Hello to All,
I want to make PPS my new hobby. I have had some experience in building balsa aircraft, but i get the impression that a great deal of PSS aircraft are built mostly from foam, and i am rather confused about the methods employed in the cutting of the foam.
I want to get an overview of how to build a foam model from a plan, so i'm asking for you to reply to this with advice, links to web page tutorials and articles and anything else that you think may be of use to a beginner such as myself.
If i want to do this 'properly' do i have have to purchase foam cutting software and hardware or is there a less expensive method?
Thank you
Simon Savarese

Hi Simon, firstly sorry for the slow response, I think most people were busy getting stuff ready for the recent event.
As for building it's a mix. The three main areas are scratch/plan built from wood, ARTF/EDF conversions or cut from foam. Foam is often used for some of the bigger stuff but not always. If you haven't got one yet you'll need a hot wire bow and a transformer to power it. Essentially you need a template at either end of the fosm which you cut around with the wire under tension on the bow.
Where abouts are you?
