Thanks to all those that came along, the forecast put a few off though. If you want to see what you missed have a look at www.rvmsa.co.ukYours Simon H RVMSA

Good Work Simon! Wish I'd been there! This scoring system you employed, is it unique to RVMSA or is it the new PSS Light system being described on the PSSA website? www.pssaonline.co.uk/main-pages/pss%20light.htm Cheers [shadow=red,left,300]Reg[/shadow]

Look forward to the full review Simon!! I must say that P-38 looks super - would like to learn more of the conversion to PSS - have recently done something similar with an Electric Ducted Fan F-18, but with only limited success due to wing loading, despite my efforts to minimise weight!! As you have had your event listed on the PSSA Events page, would you mind if your full review also went onto our Events Review page in the near future?

Sure I don't mind about the review being added to the PSSA reviews pages. As for th escoring it currently is unique to RVMSA events as a trial its a developement of the PSS light rules, I have Andy Blackburn to thank for help with this and is currently being adapted for use at the next RVMSA event.

Simon, I have seen that you have now added a full report on the SSA website covering your PSS event on 23rd Feb - is it ok with you if I crib your text and create a copy report on the PSSA website for those PSSA members that dont read the forum?? Also, any .jps you may have from the day would be most appreciated to illustrate your report. Please advise, then I'll crack on By the way, Ive added a link to your society's website on our links page today. Cheers for now Phil Cooke

Please bear in mind that TWO people each put a lot of thought and effort into the development of PSS Light rules and scoring systems. Don't just blame Andy!

I see what you mean about the avatar :-) ...
I'd be interested to see how you're going to mark flights for "Heavy PSS" when using your new system - general realism? accuracy of manoeuvers (e.g. airshow-shaped loops and rolls)? set manoeuvers (sharp intake of breath)? :-)
I used to be of the view that models should only be flown through manoeuvers that the full-size example could have done, but now I'm not so sure. My personal view is that its probably more important to not do anything with the model that spoils the air of realism, which really comes down to being smooth - the bigger the full-size aircraft, the slower the roll and pitch rate.
