All,
As you may be aware Alan Hulme, the founder of the PSSA has recently undergone radiotherapy treatment for cancer.
I’ve been contacted this evening by Jayne, Alan’s daughter, with the sad news that Alan passed away in the early hours of this morning, having finally lost his battle with the illness. He died peacefully in his sleep at Chester hospital. Jayne and the grand kids are with Alans wife Margaret at this time.
Alan will be sorely missed by all who knew him - an active modeller since childhood - over the past 24 years he has provided an immense amount of drive and enthusiasm for Power Scale Soaring in the UK since he founded our Association in the mid eighties.
He would very rarely miss an event in the UK, and was flying up until late Summer 09 on top of the sea cliffs at Lleyn and on the Great Orme.
Jayne has asked me to put a few words on the PSSA website which I will do once I have composed a few appropriate sentences.
Our thoughts are with Alans family at this time.

Hi Phil, I am sorry but I do not get to look at this website very often these days, I am very saddened to hear of the passing of our friend Alan, Alan Hulme was a good friend and like minded colleague that I must have known for well over twenty years His early PSS models and articles written about PSS inspired me to go down this route with model model flying as I am sure he inspired others, Condolences go from myself to Margaret and the rest of Alan's family and friends Regards Steve Buckley

Very sad news, I attended the very first PSSA meeting in wich Alan was a brilliant host over the weekend.
I will always remember him for his enormous enthusiasm and passion for PSS flying.
Grahame Algar.
